Dr. Kellie Shamrell, DVM

Dr. Shamrell grew up in Cottonwood. Kellie attended local schools and graduated from Mingus Union High School. Kellie was active in FFA, 4-H and showed Arabian and Paint horses at breed shows throughout Arizona,

While in high school Kellie worked at Verde Veterinary Hospital as a technician. At Northern Arizona University, she graduated with a major in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. She then went on to the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her doctorate.

After graduation, Kellie was one of four out of 97 doctors to attain the Large Animal Internship at the UGA. During that year she treated horses, pot belly pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas and llamas, camels and all types of cattle.

Since graduation in 2011, Kellie has practiced around the Verde Valley and at the Prescott Area Pet Emergency Hospital, prior to starting her own practice at Danza Del Sol.


Tim Mills, CVT

Practice Manager

Tim was born in Phoenix, and moved to the Verde Valley to start high school. Having grown up with all sorts of animals he began working for a pet store during his senior year of high school.

In early 2004 Tim was offered a position at Verde Veterinary Hospital, where he met his wife, Ashley. He became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2010.

He has worked for many of the veterinary practices around the Verde Valley and joined Danza Del Sol in May of 2023.

When he is not in the office he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter.

Tim is a life-long learner and attends as many Continuing Education meetings as he can to keep up with the ever changing veterinary field.


Richie Bentley

Veterinary Assistant

Richie started working in the veterinary field in 2016 as a kennel assistant. As he continued to increase his knowledge he was promoted over the years to the role of a veterinary assistant.

As a child Richie helped his parents with a pit bull rescue where dogs were rescued and rehabilitated. He feels that this was what inspired him to pursue a career where he could help animals.

When he is not working or spending time with his son or rescue animals he enjoys welding and practicing Muay Thai.


Hailey Copus

Veterinary Assistant

Hailey started in the industry in 2017 as a receptionist. She has worked as a veterinary assistant since 2018 in both general practice and emergency practice.

Hailey has had a passion for animals since she was a little girl. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family and exploring the outdoors.


Victoria Casey

Veterinary Assistant

Vicky was born and raised here in Arizona. She started her veterinary career as a veterinary assistant and receptionist, and has gained additional responsibilities as she has increased her knowledge.

At home she cares for her Great Danes and many cats. Her love of animals continues to grow as does the need to help and care for them.

In her free time she loves to work on her car and paint.


Brett Smith

Veterinary Assistant

Since he was little, Brett has loved animals. Brett grew up watching the Crocodile Hunter, nature documentaries, and catching lizards and bugs in his backyard in the Mojave Desert. As he got older, he spent much of his time working at and volunteering for various wildlife sanctuaries, zoos, and wildlife education groups.

After years of working and volunteering for other organizations, in 2019, Brett started a non-profit reptile rescue and wildlife education organization called Sonoran Reptiles.

In 2023, Brett joined the Danza Del Sol team, taking his first steps into veterinary medicine and further expanding his experience and career in animal care.


Patty Fulghum

Customer Service Representative

Patty was born in Flagstaff and raised in the Verde Valley. She spent her childhood on a farm in Cornville and has always had a love for animals of all kinds.

Patty started her career in veterinary medicine in 2002 and spends her time outside of work with her five dogs, four cats, and four grandchildren. Patty Loves reading, board games, and music of all kinds.

Elise Phillips

Kennel Assistant

Elise Started working at Danza Del Sol in the Summer of 2020. She plans to one day become a veterinarian and own her own veterinary clinic.

In her free time she enjoys playing Basketball for her high school and spending time with her family and friends. Her plan is to stay with Danza Del Sol through high school, until she leaves for college.
